Abstract
What is the role of museums today, nationally and globally? What role does the issue of citizenship play in a museum context, and how do you even become part of a community? Taking its point of departure in a study tour of New York and Boston, this article will offer examples of how we may understand these concepts and possibly handle some of the challenges they involve.
