Projektet fokuserer på de idealer om videnskab, der motiverede til at indsamle, udforske og formidle folkeminder fra midten af 1800-tallet til starten 1900-tallet, hvor fagfeltet gradvist blev professionaliseret og Dansk Folkemindesamling oprettet.
