Forskningsprojektets formål er ud fra nye vinkler og kildemateriale at belyse en dramatisk og for Grønland og Danmark afgørende historisk begivenhedsrække, hvor den tyske værnemagt i Nordøstgrønland sikrede sig meterologiske data til vejrudsigter for Vesteuropa.
