My primary tasks are runology and epigraphy, the examination of runic artefacts, treasure trove, research, and public communication.
I was trained in prehistoric archaeology and have also attended courses in Old Icelandic and Latin. My research is mainly in the junction of archaeology/history, literacy and language history. At the National Museum I am keen on working with research and public communication and have been leading projects that have concluded in monographs in Danish and English. In 2021 I received Dronning Margrethe II's Videnskabspris for my work on runology. And I have had my own rune stone made, which sits at the front gate of my garden at home.
