The research activities at the Nivaagaard Collection focus on the museum's area of responsibility, collections, and activities. The collections of the founder, Johannes Hage, and his bequest of older European art and the Danish Golden Age constitute the focal point. An international perspective is an integrated part of the museum's ambitions.
The research is disseminated through exhibitions, publications, acquisitions, and new displays in the galleries. All activities have the relevance of the museum's collections in common.
The Nivaagaard Collection is pleased to collaborate with other institutions on research projects, including museum partners and universities, and we welcome housing PhD and postdoc projects whenever possible.
