Museum Skanderborg covers the Municipality of Skanderborg and are responsible for archaeological and historical investigations in the area. The museum is a self-governing, state-recognized institution with four exhibition venues and six archives attached.
The museum is audience-involved with a focus on co-creation projects and outreach. Much work is being done to break down the barriers between the public and researchers, and the museum's research is characterized by an inclusive approach.

Research profile

The museum works with topics within the overall themes ‘War and Peace’ and ‘The Journey’. There is a focus on working with a holistic perspective across disciplines. The topics are:
