Museums of Elsinore is a state-approved museum of cultural history.
Until 2022, the museum's research efforts will be concentrated on oral history, remembrance and shipyard work. The project Voices from the shipyard collects interviews with former employees from Elsinore Shipyard and 3-4 other major Danish yards. The steel shipyards have been of great importance for modern Danish history; economically, socially and mentally. In addition to adding a significant collection of memories to the museum, which will be included in the exhibitions at the Shipyard Museum under the Elsinore Museums, the project will also contribute to research into memory culture and the politics of history.
Other topics within the museum's area of responsibility may be included into its research activities, as far as resources permit.
