Description
Since the discovery in 1998 of an elaborate underdrawing in the Mauritshuis’ Young Portrait of Rembrandt the search for a comparable technique has been an ongoing theme in my research. This talk will illustrate this continued search which based on infrared imaging has revealed not only new aspects of Rembrandt’s working habits but also of that of many of his contemporaries. A critical evaluation will round off this never-ending tour.
