Description

The lecture introduced amber (especially Baltic amber) explaining its composition, properties and historical use. It focused on why archaeological amber degrades, how this deterioration is studied using techniques like FTIR, Raman and GC-MS, and what environmental factors accelerate damage. It also offered an overview of degradation mechanisms and ideal conservation and storage guidelines for museum collections.
