ADVANCES IN THE ANALYSIS OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL TEXTILES AND SKINS

Activity: Participating in or organising an eventParticipation in workshop, seminar, course

Description

The storerooms of Danish museums are full of fantastically well preserved textiles and animal skins. They are either coming from Denmark and greater Scandinavia, preserved thanks to anaerobic conditions in wet environments, or from dryer regions of the planet where they became desiccated. Yet, despite the information we can gain from an increasingly high number of analytical methods, this treasure trove of organic material is not always deemed easy to study. Join us in Copenhagen to learn more about the different approaches and methods that can be harnessed to study archaeological textiles and skins, from leading experts in this multi faceted field of research.
