Bygherrebetalt undersøgelse

I forbindelse med periodisk overvågning af fjernvarmetracé udført i Kirkestræde i 2022 og 2023 i
gården til Køge Bibliotek og mellem kirkegårdsmuren og Sct Nicolais Kirkes vestlige ende, blev der
påtruffet rester af murværk fra en bygning i munkesten, som formentlig fra 1500-1600-tallet samt en
yngre bygning; formentlig fra 1800-tallet, samt planeringslag til vejen i Kirkestræde.

In connection with conducting a watching brief in the following places in Køge: Kirkestræde, in front
of Køge Library and between the brickwall surrounding the church and previously cemetery and the
west end of the church of St. Nicolai, remains of a brick wall, (made of the so-called
“munkestens”bricks) probably from the 16th og 17th century along with remains of another brick wall,
probably from a 19th century building. Deposits for levelling the street of Kirkestræde were also found.
