Curating the Museum Garden. Best practice at Art Museums of Skagen

A Danish Italian research project in the field of museology and art history. We aim at exploring the experience developed in the past two decades by the Art Museums of Skagen around the design, management, and use of its historic gardens, as a best practice capable to throw light on the potential of green outdoor spaces to complement the mission of a museum. In particular, by observing the strategies and projects that have been carried out in Skagen since the beginning of the new Millenium, we intend to assess the strategic role gardens can play in shaping visitors’ experience in several contexts.
