The project aims at
1) developing novel theoretical approaches to the study of cultural heritage
2) developing and assessing a suite of non- or minimal destructive scientific methods for investigating archaeological remains and their preservation as well as related analyses of environmental changes and human life conditions in the Arctic
3) providing novel cultural historical insights in the new UNESCO areas in Greenland through interdisciplinary investigations of hitherto un-explored Inuit and Norse sites
