Aktivitet: Tale eller præsentation › Foredrag og mundtlige bidrag

Beskrivelse

The gold fingering from Emmerlev During the last 8 years more than 800 metal finds has been found using metal detectors at Emmerlev near the Wadden Sea. The finds date from the early Germanic iron age to the Renaissance 400-1650 AD. A large group of finds shows signs of power, trade, and connections along the Wadden sea, both in the number of finds as well as the types of finds that have been discovered. Especially a gold finger ring from the 400-450 AD stands out.

Studies into the golden ring has shown that very close parallels are known from several places in Europe. Combined with other finds from the location and excavations at the site, Emmerlev will be presented, and discussions will try to place this site in connection with centers of power and possible craftsmen centers in the Danish area and in northern Europe.
