Beskrivelse
This paper explores the connection between presence, affect and the Anthropocene as it unfolds in the art exhibition Nature (Re)turns, held outside ARKEN this summer. Methodologically the exhibition is informed by ideas of bodily knowledge, materiality and affect. Hence, its aim is to put into practice how the Anthropocene can be approached, not only as a subject of interest, but as something that is felt in the body of the beholder. The paper will discuss how this is put into practice in the exhibition through an analysis of the two art projects, the exhibition design and the adjacent interpretation. Questions will be raised regarding the site of the exhibition. What is the atmosphere of this specific landscape? What kind of presence does it allow for?
