Beskrivelse
A public conversation with artists and art historians from the Virgin Islands and Denmark. The recent digitization of parts of the colonial archives have made this material available for people outside Denmark for the first time. This creates opportunities for bringing historic material, and the histories they harbor, back to the community.
In this conversation we will share some of the findings in the archives and discuss how art has been used both as a tool of colonial control and as a form of resistance to reclaim memory.
Participants: Artist David Berg (VI), photography researcher Mette Kia Krabbe Meyer (DK), artist Katrine Dirckinck-Holmfeld (DK), artist La Vaughn Belle (VI)
