The book "Science and Art. The painted surface", published by the Royal Society of Chemistry, demonstrates, through the presentation of 27 case studies, written jointly by scientists, historians and conservators, as the collaboration between the humanities and scientific brings to a better understanding of the history of art and to the sustainable development of the methods of preservation of artworks.
